This tutorial explains how to set up a simple color conversion flow with callas pdfToolbox CLI  and Enfocus Switch.

Launch Switch and locate callas pdfToolbox functional modules



The callas pdfToolbox  functionality can be found in the "Elements" section – just enter "callas" in the search field, and the available functional modules for callas pdfToolbox will be listed.

Create a new flow



Enter self descriptive name

callas pdfToolbox 4.5 offers a very easy way to visualize rich black text (mostly original black text that was converted to 4C unintentionally) and areas with ink coverage too high for the desired printing condition.

Open our example Ad "210x285_ClassicCar.pdf" using the open dialog or by pressing Cmd-O



Alternatively, you can also drag-and-drop the PDF document onto the callas pdfToolbox 4 application icon or the callas pdfToolbox 4 canvas.

Convert a presentation file into PDF and generate a handout file from it. In a second step, convert this handout PDF into black and white in order to save ink or toner on the printing device.

Open "PDFA Presentation.odp"

8 pages are created from the presentation file as indicated in the lower left corner. You may use the page up and page down cursor keys in order to scroll through the PDF file.

Open pdfToolbox Switchboard and select "Present"

Create a new Fixup



Give the fixup a name



Click "Additional search path - Choose" in order to create a variable.

Create the variable



Enter a useful path, e.g. to your desktop folder, so that you will be able to add a folder name.

Save the fixup

If you now execute the new fixup a dialog pops up that lets you modify the search path for fonts

A spreadsheet "Eventplan" has three tables on two sheets, some images and a diagram with saturated colors. This spreadsheet document is converted by pdfToolbox to PDF and the colors are perfectly prepared for the printing process: Saturated RGB colors are converted into saturated CMYK colors and RGB-Black is converted into Black.
